The Rohingya people, a Muslim-minority group, are currently facing systematic persecution in Myanmar, resulting in the forced migration of more than a million Rohingya Muslims to Bangladesh, with the number increasing each day. The UN describes this Rohingya Refugee Crisis as “a textbook example of ethnic cleansing”. This non-profit campaign is committed to positively impacting the Rohingya Refugee Community in Bangladesh. The goal is to support the most vulnerable segments of the Rohingya Camps. We aim to do this by partnering with organizations that are actively working at the ground-level. The target is three fold: •raise awareness about the Rohingya Crisis •provide funding to active organizations working in the camps •positively impact the Rohingya Refugee Camps through fund disbursement and advocacy. The Catalyst Foundation for Universal Education has generously agreed to match donations up to $20,000. These funds will only be used for educational purposes. Where will donations go? All donations will go to JAAGO and Doctors Without Borders (MSF), trusted international non-profits, who are assisting Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. What will donations be used for? Donations will be used to fund custom projects that are directly assisting Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. With JAAGO we will fund the creation of a drop-in center that will provide basic education/training to children in refugee camps. With Doctors Without Borders (MSF) we will support initiatives that assist patients in health clinics. We have partnered with JAAGO to help build a center which will provide children with the following: Safe shelter: An administered area which will be staffed by trained, local professionals to care for and teach the children during the day. Meals: Children will be provided nutritious, hot meals and snacks. A sense of normalcy: Help keep the children's spirits strong by giving them a safe space to go every day, to eat, to learn and keep them engaged in play.
