Founded in 2006, Rerip is a Solana Beach, Calif.--based nonprofit organization that is reducing landfill waste one surfboard at a time. Rerip is run by a team of volunteers that establishes locations for people to drop off their unwanted surfboards, fins and wetsuits. Rerip also hosts local events and awareness campaigns, and constantly strives to find inspiring new ways to reduce waste and harmful practices. The boards we receive are either sold for a nominal price or donated to kids in need around the world. The surfboards and other materials we collect are also used by schools, artists and researchers for various inspiring and educational projects.
