ReGear Life Sciences LLC develops and manufactures therapeutic deep-heating solutions for the management of pain and muscle/joint stiffness associated with injury and aging. The company's products utilize shortwave diathermy technology that was licensed from the U.S. Navy, where it was originally developed to warm deep sea divers and SEAL team members. ReGear has previously used this technology to create the first portable diathermy systems (ReBound®), for use by physical therapists, rehab clinics, and pro sports teams. We are now reinventing shortwave diathermy once again as ViVY™, a small, rechargeable, ultra-portable and wearable wrap for consumer pain management. 1.5B people globally (21% of population) suffer from chronic pain. 235M adults in the USA suffer pain, with >100M annually coping with back pain, arthritis, fibromyalgia, or repetitive stress and sports injuries. US pain management market reached ~$60B in 2015, accounting for about 48% of the global market. 10% annual near-term growth is expected as the US population ages. The US market for pain management devices alone is expected to exceed $3B over the next 5 years. There is no single solution; despite the many Rx and OTC options available, it remains an unsatisfied market. Many chronic pain patients are seeking alternatives to drugs in order to better manage their condition. VIVY uses shortwave RF diathermy to generate high frequency electromagnetic energy, which penetrates beneath the skin and subcutaneous fatty tissue, to create heat in muscle and deep body tissues. Therapeutic heating with diathermy relaxes muscles, loosens stiff joints, alleviates pain, increases blood flow, and accelerates the healing and recovery processes.
