Product Overview ProxyComm's service works with any cellular network provider. When you receive a call on your second number, the call is routed through ProxyComm's network and delivered to the destination cell phone with a pre-connect message announcing who the caller is before you answer. Subscribers can then choose to answer the call or let the call go to voice mail. By adding a second number to ones mobile phone, the subscriber can keep their existing cell phone number private. This is ideal if one gets business calls on their mobile phone as the service allows to keep business and personal calls separate. Technology ProxyComm uses VOIP technology, also known as Voice Over Internet Protocol, to process and route its calls. The company also uses a method called Mobile Number Portability (MNP) which enables mobile telephone users to retain their mobile telephone numbers when changing from one mobile network operator to another. This also allows for the association of multiple phone numbers to a mobile phone. Calls that are placed with these technology methods (VOIP & MNP), done over the Internet have a significant reduction in cost over traditional fixed line telephony systems.
