PROMITHEAS PATRAS Information

PROMITHEAS PATRAS is a Sports and Culture Organization based in Patras, Greece, cultivating basketball and other sports. The name derives from the Greek mythology Titan "Prometheus", who defied Gods and handed fire to humanity. Our logo, the flame, represents our passion for excellence and our values: truth, integrity, respect, and solidarity. It consists of 4 main pillars, A.S.P. PROMITHEAS, the NOUS Project, PROMITHEAS PATRAS BC, and PROMITHEAS PARK. A.S.P. PROMITHEAS was founded in 1985 as an amateur athletic club. By now, more than 750 kids are members of the basketball academy. In 2014, a pioneering CSR program was launched, the NOUS Project. A unique initiative in Greece, that provides scholarships combining hospitality and school studies with high-level basketball practices for athletes aged 14-18 years old playing in A.S.P. PROMITHEAS. Since 2016, the U18 and U16 teams consisted of players from the A.S.P. Academies and NOUS scholars are finishing in top-3 positions of the respective championship in Greece. The highlight, until the next, is the 2018-19 U16 Champions title. The professional basketball club of Promitheas Patras BC was established in 2016 and is the team of the organization that participates in the Greek Basket League, Greek Cup, and Eurocup. It uses Dimitris Tofalos Arena, a 5.000 spectators capacity stadium, as the base for all the home games. Eventually, 2018 was a milestone for the Organization since PROMITHEAS PARK was ready. An International standards training center that combines basketball courts, high-tech ergometrics, strengthening equipment along with recreation, cultural and environmental education, congresses, social events and business meetings.
