At Project Shema, we envision a future in which collective Jewish inclusion and safety are ensured inside healthy pluralistic institutions and societies. Guided by the Jewish value of compassionate listening, Project Shema helps organizations, educational institutions, and leaders nurture understanding, belonging, and safety for the Jewish people, with an emphasis on how discourse around Israel and Palestine can undermine Jewish inclusion and safety while also weakening institutional culture and mission driven work. We’re inspired by the idea that a better path forward is possible by creating space for empathy and shared learning to strengthen the relationships that sustain pluralism, inclusion, and collective repair.
