Polykar, a family business founded in 1987, in Saint-Laurent, Quebec, began as a manufacturer of industrial garbage bags. Today, with 100+ employees, the company has become one of the leading manufacturers of polyethylene film, compostable bags and bulk food packaging in Canada. It has also developed expertise in plastics recycling. Working alongside global partners, Polykar is proud to be at the helm of environmental and technical innovation, and since 2003 has carried both ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications. Polykar’s manufacturing facility and offices also carry silver certification under the internationally-recognised Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.
