PHOSISTOR TECHNOLOGIES, Inc. designs and manufactures semiconductor photonic components and photonic integrated circuits for the DWDM market and other segments of the global telecommunications and data communications optical network. The fastest growing segment of the optical network component market, the market for integrated optic products is projected to reach US$ 2.6 Billion in 2005 [CIR Report, 2001]. Our core strength is a process technology that enables low-cost manufacture of photonic integrated circuits containing both active and passive devices on the same substrate, and a packaging technology that reduces the cost of optical packaging for these photonic integrated circuits. Photonic ICs (PICs), like their electronic brethren, provide many benefits such as reduced part counts, simplified packaging, lower assembly cost as well as increased functionality and reliability. The overall cost is lower, which will drive additional applications and more integration. In the long run integrated modules and sub-systems are expected to replace discrete components. What does the company do? We design and develop integrated component and modules and provide integrated optic component solutions (modules or subsystems on single chips) for Metro core, Metro access, and long-haul optical networks. What are our competitive advantages? Our integration platform has significant cost advantage, and coupled with cost-effective fiber packaging, gives higher reliability and lower loss. The overall result is high manufacturability, smaller footprints, and reduced costs, making our products ideally suited to the Metro markets. What is our product roadmap? We are developing a "toolbox" of integratable device components, with which we can design monolithic optical integrated circuits (OIC) that meet customer's needs. The level of integration and functionality is scalable with customer's demand. Our products are customer driven. They will save costs while giving the required performance.
