pdfRest is a REST API for high-volume PDF processing, built on the Adobe PDF Library. Developers call it from any language to convert, generate, extract, secure, and prepare PDFs in production pipelines, chaining calls by passing a resource ID from one step to the next. CONVERT: Office, HTML, images, email, and Markdown to PDF; PDF to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images, Markdown, PDF/A, PDF/X (1a, 3, 4, 6), and PostScript. GENERATE: create a PDF from scratch and add text, images, shapes, tables, and attachments, with accessibility tagging. EXTRACT and ANALYZE: OCR, text, images, form data, metadata queries, AI summarization and translation. SECURE: sign, encrypt, restrict, watermark, two-step redaction, and TDM Reserve to signal AI-training opt-out. PREPRESS: convert colors, flatten transparencies, set page boxes, rasterize, refry through PostScript. FORMS: import and export form data, flatten forms, convert XFA to AcroForms. Deploy on pdfRest Cloud in the US or EU, or self-host with the Container on Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS Marketplace (BYOL). Same API, same code, change the base URL.
