Patagonia Regional Times is a free monthly publication serving the Mountain Empire communities of Canelo, Elgin, Patagonia and Sonoita in Santa Cruz County, Arizona. We are a nonprofit organization, funded by paid advertising, donations and grants, and our publication is distributed to newsstands and local merchants in the area. Our mission is to highlight local issues and the contributions of local talent, and to provide a forum for dialogue that is open to all views. PRT was first published in November of 2009, and has grown from 12 pages to our current average of 28 to 32 pages. Our staff of volunteers has grown too, and now includes writers whose contributions include opinion/commentary, columns on local ecology, birding, computer issues, and new books.
