Parisianou Publications Information

The publishing house ''Gregorios Parisianos'' was established in 1949 by G. Parisianos and Mary Parisianos. In the beginning, it operated as a bookstore and after a short period of time started publishing University professors' papers, particulary those from medical faculties. As thease collaborations developed and the house's turnover expanded, the creation of a proprietary typographic unit was decided, along with a typesetting, printing and bookbinding system. At the same time, the company began to acquire translation rights and made many foreign classic medical titles, including Harrison, Davidson, Harvey, Current available to the Greek market in collaboration with major publishing houses. After the loss of Gregorios Parisianos, the company was managed by his wife and was renamed to '' Scientific Publications Maria Gr. Parisianou''. April 2000 marked the creation of a new company, PARISIANOU S.A. , based in Athens. The management and presidency of the company was taken up by Margarita Papailiou-Parisianou. In a short period of time, two more branches were founded in Goudi( Mikras Asias 76, Branch ''Gregorios Parisianos'') and in Thessaloniki (Panagias Dexias 5) that operate in parallel with the central shop ''Maria Gr. Parisianou''(Nauarinou 20, Athens). At the same time, the company modernised its machinery and printing methods according to the latests achievements of electronic typography and continues, with undiminished success, the long lasting tradition of the Parisianou family in the field of Greek Publishing. Besides the merchandising of scientific textbooks, the company has extended its activities into broadening and enriching its publishing spectrum. Since September 2007, the company offices moved to the proprietary complex of graphic arts, located in Metamorphosis, Athens. Finally, In 2009 our central bookstore in Nauarinou 20, was extensively renovated whith an archive of Parisianou publications, as well as an antique library for medical books.
