Holiday 2020 - Masked and Socially distanced! We were very sad and sorry to cancel our appearce due to COVID-19. We are excited to announce that we will be back for opening weekend at "Nights of a Thousand Candles" at Brookgreen Gardens December 3-5. We will have 2 small groups of ringers due to social distancing requirements. Look for us at the Pegasus Tent at 4:00, 5:40 or 7:20. We are also appear on Summerville Baptist Church (summervillebaptist.org) Virtual Christmas presentation on Dec. 20, 21, 22, & 23 @ 8:00. Our virtual performances at SBC can still be found on YouTube. Palmetto Bronze is an auditioned handbell ensemble that seeks to encourage others to explore the unique musical medium of handbells. We ring exciting music of many genres and styles : classical, original compositions, pop, jazz, patriotic, Broadway show tunes and movie themes - Always bringing smiles to the faces of our listeners! A huge assortment of bells and chimes! Palmetto Bronze plays on 7 octaves of Schulmerich and Malmark Bells, 6 octaves of Malmark chimes, 3 octaves of Early Trusonic bells, 2 1/2 octaves of duplicates Malmark bells and 2 octaves of Mass Rowe bells. We rehearse on Sundays from 5:30-7:30 PM in the Handbell Room at Summerville Baptist Church Palmetto Bronze is directed by Marcia J. Brantley of Summerville, SC. Our members come from all over the Lowcountry and from all walks of life. We all share a love of handbells and enjoy the challenge that comes from playing exciting music with accuracy and musicality. We sponsor the Lowcountry Handbell Workshop annually bringing in a nationally known clinician and offering classes and massed ringing. We are a qualified non-profit organization.
