The Paleo Cafe is set to open its doors on March 26 on Park Ave in Burleigh and will be the first dedicated Paleo Cafe on the Gold Coast. The paleo diet, often referred to as the caveman diet, is based on foods eaten during the Palaeolithic era 15,000 years ago. The focus of the diet is on meat, fish, nuts, vegetables and seeds, or anything that was hunted or gathered traditionally - caveman style. All processed foods are cut from a paleo diet, in addition to dairy, gluten, grains, legumes, sugars and all preservatives. Paleo Cafe Burleigh owner Bob Dever said he decided to open a Gold Coast franchise of the Paleo Cafe after visiting a franchise of the cafe in Brisbane.
