Relying on forty-eight years of training and experience, its Principal Robert Gage offers expert consulting services on a variety of subjects that generally involve the conceptual planning of high voltage electrical equipment designs that achieve the owners specified criteria for constructability, reliability, siting, economics, interconnection and operation & maintenance. The firm holds a Certificate of Authorization from the NYS Education Department to provide professional engineering services. Its clients include electrical construction firms, general contractors, engineering design firms, electrical equipment suppliers, economic development agencies, energy utilities, electricity generators and end-users, project developers, facility owners, law firms and forensic engineering firms. Robert received a BSEE from the University at Buffalo (1973), an MBA from Canisius College (1978), a certificate of completion for the two-year Power Systems Engineering Program from Power Technologies Inc (1977), and is a registered Professional Engineer in NY State (1978). He worked 40 years in the Western New York Divisional offices of Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation & NMPC d/b/a National Grid on a utility system that, due to its proximity to Niagara Falls hydro power, has an unusually high concentration of 230 and 115 kV double circuit transmission lines that supply both company stations and stations owned by high-use industrial and commercial consumers. He held positions of increasing responsibility in engineering, operations and marketing department roles, with his final 12-year assignment being the engineering department's Principal Engineer for customer-owned facilities in Western NY. In this capacity he mentored other department engineers.
