With the rising use of digital devices and increased adoption of social networks, our society is becoming more closed off, while the amount we share online increase, the real moments we share together fall. Statistics released in September 2015 show that young adults in the UK now spend less than 3% of their time socializing with friends or family, while this culture exists business that rely on human interaction invariably will suffer. Orcas core goal is to encourage people to spend more time engaging in the social activities they love. To enable this, we’ve formed a simple and intuitive mobile application that allows users to discover and create social gatherings locally to them, at zero cost. The app can be used to create plans quickly with old friends or to make plans with new people, the focus, however, remains the same, face-to-face socializing! In addition to the value we give our users, we also have the ability to let businesses tap into our growing user base to list their own events, tickets, offers and more.
