ORAZ operates at the intersection of couture and ready-to-wear to create well-made clothing with a darkly romantic and timeless style. Celebrating the Western fashion and the Eastern culture of China, the collections combine artisanal craftsmanship and details with abstract volumes and unique silhouettes to offer a contemporary take on femininity. The brand is pushing the boundary between the classic and contemporary yet represents determined femininity that blends a modern cool attitude with structure and form. ORAZ features modern women who are courageous to express themselves by wearing distinct silhouettes yet with an unconstrained attitude. ORAZ was founded by Anna Yinan Zhou in New York in 2020. Moved from Shanghai to San Francisco, Anna studied Fashion Design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, describe her aesthetic as “dark romantic”. Anna went on to work in the Bridal atelier at Marchesa before launching her own label ORAZ in 2020. Anna’s abstract yet avant-garde aesthetic comes from an early classical fine-art background paired with a design philosophy for combining sensuality with chic functionality, expressing sensual vitality through feminine material in an unorthodox, sophisticated way.
