OCR FM was established in 1991 by a small group of radio enthusiasts from across Colac and was first known as Colac Community Radio later changing it's name to CPR FM and then Colac Public radio. Then in the year 2000 the name was changed to Otway FM to reflect the increased listening area as the station had established an Otways transmitter on a second frequency. The station became known as OCR FM in late 2008. This was yet again due to an expanding listening area, as the station now broadcasts to large parts of Southwest Victoria.
