Northeast Harbor Sailing School Information

The mission of the Northeast Harbor Sailing School is to teach youths and adults how to sail and race on the beautiful waters of Mount Desert Island. Through sailing, the sailing school aims to inspire a love of the sport which fosters lifelong friendships and instills a love of, and respect for the ocean. The NEHSS follows an updated curriculum that focuses on seamanship, sportsmanship, and developing sailing skills from the fundamentals of knot-tying and boat handling to competitive racing. The emphasis of seamanship alongside sportsmanship allows the program to develop capable sailors who have a respect for their vessels and equipment, environment, marine life, and their fellow sportsmen and women.
