We love working with buildings. If it’s new, we want to create the best spaces that we can for people to live or work in. If it’s old we want to save the best bits and add exciting new elements that will ensure the buildings fit with the demands of modern life. We work with some of the best people in the business – architects, engineers, designers, contractors – who all help us deliver exceptional projects. Some of these projects, on the face of it, were not viable – they just didn’t work financially. But with a combination of creativity and micro-management of difficult schemes we have made them work. In some cases we have also helped to bring a financial solution for projects through close connections with development funders. Our projects have included conversions of many Grade II and II* Listed historical buildings, a scheduled ancient monument and a burnt-out industrial building which we now work from. Our schemes are generally off the radar of other developers and are largely off-market projects due to the difficult nature of the sites and the need to pick the right team to make a success of their development. Of course we also have extensive experience in new-build schemes and are passionate about delivering the very best buildings possible for a site. We get excited when we find a building or site that could be so much better than it is, working through the issues, difficulties, options and possibilities for it. Then the really good bit happens – when everything begins to fall into place it becomes our ‘Next Big Thing’.
