Residential Land was founded in 1991 by Bruce Ritchie, and has grown to own and manage a portfolio of more than 1,200 Central London properties worth in excess of £1.5 billion. The company has successfully invested through successive property cycles by focussing on London’s `Golden Post Codes’ – encompassing some of the most valuable real estate in the world. Residential Land’s strategy focusses on acquiring existing or off-plan properties, mainly in the form of blocks of apartments and applying their asset, operational and development skills to create a fully managed PRS product. Residential Land is a proactive landlord with tenants and service is at the core of the business. In 2012 Residential Land formed a partnership with Ivanhoe Cambridge, the real estate subsidiary of one of the world’s leading pension fund managers Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec. The partnership represents the first wave of institutional investment in private rented property in the UK and has since been followed by many others. Residential Land is based in London’s Mayfair, and other key team members are head of investments Emma Whitby-Smith, group finance director Jonathan Rust, head of lettings Stuart Birke and development director Michael Hughes. The team is renowned for its expertise in transaction and asset management, professionalism and customer service.
