This was the driving force behind opening up My Moroccan Spa. Hammams have played a significant part in Moroccan culture for centuries. Used by Moroccans at least once a week, this ritual based body treatment involved steaming, scrubbing and massaging of the skin until it glows. Not only was the hammam experience beneficial to the body, but also to the mind and soul. It was a place where women would meet, engage in discussion and bond. A place where you leave your stress and worries behind and walk out as a new person. We believe there is a unique synergy between modern day science and ancient holistic techniques that will accentuate these benefits. This is where the idea of My Moroccan Spa came to life. Maha Berkan; a mother, wife, and entrepreneur, found that in todays digital world, there was a real need for a place where women can take a break from the stress of everyday life. She had come to realize how seemingly endless her responsibilities can become. Her vision was to create a judgment-free environment, where women are welcome and their well-being and comfort are prioritizedan experience far beyond skincare. This was the genesis of what would soon become My Moroccan Spa. My Moroccan Spa is designed by women, for women.
