In 1962, the first gondola opened in Colorado, safety bindings were just starting to be marketed, and MountainGuard wrote its first insurance policy. Since then, rope tows have given way to "high speed quads," skis have gotten much shorter, and MountainGuard has become the largest writer of ski resort insurance in North America. As the ski industry has continued to evolve MountainGuard has evolved to meet the ever changing needs.
