Digital District Canada, a new player in the FX industry Montreal, Jan. 16, 2017 – David Danesi, CEO of worldwide visual effects company Digital District, and Danny Bergeron, president of Montreal visual effects house Mokko Studio Inc., are proud to announce the acquisition of Mokko Studio by Digital District. The new entity will go by the name of Digital District Canada. Digital District has been in operation since 2008. It is the undisputed industry leader in VFX for France’s film and advertising markets. Digital District has an impressive track record; The company has provided VFX for a number of hit feature films, including the The Artist, Samba and most recently, Jackie starring Natalie Portman. Having overseen the visual effects work for over 400 commercials, their work includes video ads for prestigious brands including Guerlain , Jean-Paul Gaultier , and Nissan. "We're extremely excited about this acquisition! It will provide Digital District with the opportunity to capitalize on the expertise and talent of Mokko Studio and further the development of our ever-expanding group,"​ Danesi proudly states. Founded in 2003 Mokko Studio is one of Montreal's most well-respected visual effects companies. Over the years, Mokko has produced visual effects for a number of prominent Hollywood films, including X-Men: Days of Future Past, Riddick: Rule the Dark and Jupiter Ascending. Bergeron will act as Vice President of Market Development for the company. "I'm so happy to announce this partnership,” declares Bergeron.
