Mojang AB is a games studio based in Stockholm, Sweden. We were founded in 2009, just after the creation of Minecraft — our most popular video game to date. Since 2014, we've been a part of Xbox Game Studios, known for franchises such as Halo, Forza and Gears of War. While the acquisition has expanded our reach and creative capacity significantly, Minecraft is just as much fun as it ever was, and our player-centered approach to development remains strong! Minecraft has proven popular. In fact, it’s the second best-selling game ever, and is available on a remarkable number of platforms. But we consider Minecraft as more than just a piece of software — we have one of the most passionate, creative communities around, as well as our own non-profit, a wealth of official merchandise, an upcoming movie, an annual live show extravaganza, a narrative-focussed game series made in collaboration with Telltale Games, and lots more! We’re currently expanding the Minecraft franchise, and have recently announced Minecraft: Dungeons. For more updates, follow us on social media at @minecraft. But we're not just known for Minecraft.
