ModVic is a Steampunk art and design company started by Bruce and Melanie Rosenbaum in 2007. Bruce and Melanie created the first functional Steampunk house in the world. ModVic repurposes and infuses modern technology and gadgets and everything cool into period, relevant antiques and salvage objects. We work with clients in the U.S. and internationally to design one-of-a-kind pieces, creatively combining eras and ideas to transform the ordinary into incredible Steampunk functional art. The Steampunk design process celebrates history through telling the personal stories of individuals, organizations, hotels, bars, restaurants, corporations, museums, brands and places by reimagining period artifacts in new and meaningful ways. By repurposing objects and spaces around us, we take steps on a path for a re-imagined better future. We see Steampunk and repurposing as a beautiful, functional solution to a variety of design challenges. Bruce and Melanie's functional art Steampunk House and design business have been prominently featured in the Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune, The New York Times, CNN, Huffington Post, NPR and featured on MTV, A&E, Discovery and HGTV among many other local and national media.
