MinRef Press is a Pacific Northwest publishing company based in Oak Harbor, Washington. Owned by Rick Lawler, this site specializes in books, photographic art and souvenirs of the fabulous Pacific Northwest. After moving to Oak Harbor in 2005, he almost immediately secured a digital camera and began recording images of the area. Rick Lawler began writing in his teens, and saw his work published while in his 20s. Between 1977 and 1983, he was an editor for two weekly newspapers in California. He is an award-winning photographer, and enjoys digital photography and videography. His non-fiction has been published in Westways, General Aviation News, Beyond Reality, Physicians and Computers, Young World, Sacramento Business Journal, Santa Clara County Business, Sales & Marketing Management, The Fresno Bee, and many others. Fiction by Lawler has appeared in Space and Time, Midnight Zoo, Pulphouse, and Mature Years. Some of these stories, and others, have been collected in Sudden Impact: Unsafe Reading at Any Speed published by iUniverse. Since moving to Whidbey Island, Lawler has published two photo books and has placed his photographs into several artistic venues, inlcuding posters, canvas, framed and matted prints, and other products. Lawler is a member of the Authors Guild.
