Migraine Action Information

Migraine Action is a registered charity which aims to bridge the gap between the migraine sufferer and the medical world by providing information on all aspects of the condition and its management. Migraine Action has three main aims: • To provide information and friendly, positive reassurance, understanding and encouragement to migraine sufferers and their families. • To encourage and support research and investigation into migraine, its causes, diagnosis, prevention and treatment. • To gather and pass on information about treatments available for the control and relief of migraine and to facilitate an exchange of information on the subject. Migraine Action have a dedicated telephone helpline to give information and advice to migraineurs and those affected by migraine. They have a wide range of leaflets available on migraine, including preventative and acute treatments, migraine triggers, stress management, complementary therapies, and migraine in children. Their website is packed with information on migraine and other headache disorders. It also features the latest migraine news, event details, research information and fundraising news. There is also a message board and an ‘ask the expert’ section. Migraine Action also have 3 age specific websites especially created for children affected by migraine which can all be accessed at http://www.migraine.org.uk/youngmigraineurs Migraine Action is funded entirely by donations and members' subscriptions: • UK membership starts from £12.50 per year which gives access to a telephone, postal and email information and support line, a quarterly newsletter, access to leaflets and information on their website, and regular updates from research studies and trials. • UK enhanced membership is from £17.50 per year and also provides access to a message board and 'Ask the Expert' facilities, as well as access to leaflets and reports online and receiving email alerts from Migraine Action on related subjects.
