Micro Business Mentors shares Christ’s love and hope to those in need by providing interest-free loans, training, mentoring, and accountability to develop stable, sustainable micro businesses. MISSION STATEMENT Micro Business Mentors, together with its mission partners, shares Christ's love and hope through one-on-one mentoring and funding of grants to mission partners for the purpose of making micro enterprise loans to carefully selected individuals who are motivated to become self-sufficient. OUR PROCESS We believe that in-country mission partners understand the context and culture of the entrepreneurs we want to serve and are the critical core to the success of our local micro – finance program. They are uniquely positioned to collaborate with us in finding a local on-site mentors who manage our process. The mentor identifies potential loan candidates, conducting interviews, selecting entrepreneurs, and providing the training and accountability needed to start and grow small businesses. Once entrepreneurs are selected to receive micro loans, they complete training for business planning, budgeting, and bookkeeping, and also attend weekly meetings led by on-site mentors, who teach Biblical values, ethics, and fundamental principals of business and loan repayment. OUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE At the heart of MBM is the desire to expand deeper and wider—deeper within countries by empowering local mission partners and entrepreneurs to help more friends and neighbors reach economic stability, and wider by providing loans in additional regions of the world. Since its inception in 2008, MBM made over 800 loans in its first eight years, incrementally impacting over 5,000 individuals and their families in reaching economic stability. MBM’s vision for 2025 is to expand its work to ten locations, ten new mission partners, and impacting 100,000 people.
