Baby2Baby provides children in need with diapers, clothing and all the basic necessities that every child deserves. Over the past 15 years, Baby2Baby has distributed over half a billion essential items—more than any organization of our kind—to children in homeless shelters, domestic violence programs, foster care, hospitals and underserved schools, as well as children across the country who have lost everything in the wake of disasters. Miracle Babies is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides transportation, mental health assistance and supportive services to parents with hospitalized newborns in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICUs) in the Southern California region. Miracle Babies programs assist parents in the following ways: • Transportation services - Our Special Delivery shuttle vans provide a home-to-hospital-to-home service enabling new parents to be united with their newborn. Miracle Babies works closely with hospital social workers to ensure NICU parents have access to their newborns addressing inequities for low-income parents through free access to transportation. • Miracle Hours provides a unique opportunity for parents to get together, share concerns and feel the support of peers who understand the intricacies and challenges of having a baby in the NICU. Often these parents struggle with feelings of isolation, causing anxiety and depression at the precise time their baby needs them most. • MB Cares packages containing essential items and resource materials to aid and comfort families during their baby’s NICU stay. Contents are intended to support parents who spend considerable time in the NICU performing kangaroo care (skin to skin bonding) and breastfeeding. • Mental Health Assistance – Our My Brain & My Baby program provide individual and group therapeutic counseling by mental health clinicians via telemedicine. Through our programs, we seek to improve health and mental well-being and address inequities for parents through free access to transportation, supportive services, and resources.

Mother's Refuge, a program for homeless pregnant teens and new mothers and their infants, includes a residential care facility as well as an aftercare program. The need for these services is great and urgent, because pregnancy and youth combined with homelessness are dangerous to both mother and child. Teen pregnancy continues at a high level in the Kansas City area with steadily increasing numbers of pregnant teens from all economic and ethnic groups. Homelessness among these young mothers and their new infants is on the rise. No other shelter within the greater Kansas City area accepts homeless pregnant teens for long-term care, because of the behavioral, medical and licensing issues involved. The young women Mother's Refuge serves either have no families or have families that are unable to address basic survival needs. A pregnant teen may be admitted to the facility any time during her pregnancy. Many support services are provided to these young women, including access to medical care, individual and group counseling, food, clothing, mandatory participation in education and/or job training, childbirth/parenting classes, practical life skills classes and independent living skills training. Mother's Refuge has eight adult beds and four cribs. After delivery, residents and their babies may stay for up to one year in the program. At the end of their residency, they may return to their families, live independently, or be placed in other residential facilities. The young mom and her baby then enter into our Aftercare/Transitional Living Program, which continues to lend emotional support, case management and follow-up care.
