Metrobus Information

Our purpose is to give of all those we serve the freedom to connect with the people and places they value most so that they can live their lives to the full. From June 2018 to July 2019 we were responsible for 67.5* million passenger journeys around our region. That's roughly the equivalent of one journey for every person in the U.K. We took people to work and to school, to gigs and to hospital, on first dates and to interviews. We move to the rhythm of life. We do this safely and comfortably, reliably and consistently. And we do this sustainably, too, on a fleet of buses designed and built to have the lowest possible impact on air quality. We run urban services in Crawley, Horsham, East Grinstead, Redhill and Reigate. We also run more rural services across to Kent and as far down as Brighton. We are part of Brighton & Hove Bus Company and ulitmately part of the Go-Ahead Group plc - one of the five largest transport groups within the UK. Go-Ahead also runs several rail franchises. We were established in 1983 in Orpington, Kent and acquired in 1999 by Go-Ahead. In 2018 Metrobus' Crawley depot won GOLD for Top National Depot at the UK Bus Awards. In 2015 our Fastway Service was recognised at the UK Bus Awards winning GOLD in the Making Buses a Better Choice category. In 2012, 2013 & 2014 our Crawley Depot was awarded Top National Bus Depot at the UK Bus Awards. Also in 2012, we were awarded Transport Operator of the Year at the National Transport Awards. We operate the successful Fastway service. Fastway is a partnership and includes West Sussex County Council, Surrey County Council, Crawley Borough Council and Gatwick Airport. Fastway links Crawley to Horley, serving Gatwick Airport. Fastway uses dedicated lanes, guideways and traffic light priorities to improve reliability. Sustainability Report 2016 (file size - 9MB)
