Metro Forecasting Models is the creator, owner, and commercial operator of Interactive Growth Model® (IGM®), a proprietary predictive growth and infrastructure intelligence platform that forecasts where development will occur, when it will occur, and the infrastructure and public services future growth will require. Developed and refined through decades of real-world application, IGM® integrates parcel-level land use, zoning, development capacity, demographic, GIS, infrastructure, and market data to spatially forecast residential and non-residential development through intermediate planning horizons and ultimate buildout. The platform has been deployed by cities, counties, MPOs and public agencies for population and housing forecasting, transportation planning, utilities, capital facilities, fire and EMS, law enforcement, schools, commercial demand, economic development and other long-range infrastructure decisions. MFM has successfully applied its forecasting technology for counties, municipalities, MPOs and other public agencies across Florida, with significant repeat-client utilization. Unlike conventional forecasts that principally extrapolate historical trends, IGM® models the physical location and development potential of land, allowing decision-makers to understand not simply how much growth will occur—but where it will occur and what infrastructure it will require. Metro Forecasting Models has successfully commercialized IGM® through government deployments and is advancing the platform for broader geographic deployment and integration with modern GIS, cloud, data and AI environments. Metro Forecasting Models was founded in 2015 by Dr. Paul Van Buskirk and David H. Farmer to commercialize and advance forecasting methodologies developed and refined through decades of applied growth modeling.
