Founded in 1887, John Boos & Co. is the leading manufacturer of Boos Block® cutting boards, stainless steel solutions, and foodservice products.
For over 130 years, we've been crafting products that stand as pillars of quality and sustainability. Rooted in Effingham, Illinois, our legacy began with founder Conrad Boos' innovative butcher block. Today, we continue to inspire chefs and home cooks worldwide with our uncompromising commitment to excellence. Each Boos Block® cutting board, stainless steel table, and custom workspace is made with traditional craftsmanship and modern innovation, ensuring durability and environmental responsibility.
Our 150,000-square-foot Effingham, Illinois facility processes up to five million board feet of North American hard rock maple and Appalachian red oak annually, primarily sourced from the Great Lakes region. Our four continuously operating dry kilns can process up to 210,000 board feet of lumber at a time. Additionally, our stainless steel is sourced from steel warehouses and distribution centers in Chicago, Indianapolis, and St. Louis.
From our humble roots, we’ve remained true to our values —building the finest surfaces that have endeared themselves to chefs and home cooks across the world.
