Melon Man LLC was started in response to comments that I heard from my wife's friends. Often they would lament the fact that their significant other had either no time or limited skill in the home improvement/repairs department. They wanted their projects to be completed by a licensed and insured professional, yet had no success in finding anyone willing to do the work. The typical comments were along the lines of "...I called five licensed builders and left messages describing my project. Three did not respond at all, two made appointments but one never showed up and the one that did show for the appointment then never contacted me again..." Does this scenario sound familiar to you? Melon Man LLC is in business specifically to cater to the needs of those people; their projects typically range from two hours to two days and they want the assurance of knowing both that a full-time professional is completing the work and that if someone falls off a ladder, the medical bills are not coming out of their home owners insurance policy. Another advantage is that if - as sometimes happens - the job grows larger due to on-site conditions, as a General Contractor, Melon Man LLC has a team of trusted, licensed professionals in other skills such as plumbing, electrics, concrete etc. that can be called on. This team has been built up over many years of working together on projects. All have either worked or would be allowed to do work on my home. Each project is completed and reviewed against a 7 Point Plan to maintain standards. These points are: Timely - Did the work start/end on time. Was the customer kept notified of any schedule changes? Respectful - Every customer has the right to polite and well-mannered communication. We are a guest in the customers' home and should act accordingly. Fair Assessment - Jobs are not bid low to 'get the work' and then have significant add-ons. Work Standard - Has the work been done to an acceptable level - building code is the minimum standard even though permits are rarely needed. ...
