Since then, the SMS Network concept, with the TextPass SMS Router playing a central role, has been widely adopted and copied in the industry, and is now an essential and integral part of every serious SMS text messaging infrastructure. The mBalance SMS Router was already installed in 50 GSM networks world wide, when in 2008 the company was acquired by Tekelec.
