Every parent of an adult on the autism spectrum carries the same question: Who will be there when I can't? Luv Michael is a Southampton, NY nonprofit where families answer that question together, then share what they learn so no family has to start from zero. It began with Michael, a young man on the autism spectrum, and a simple conviction: he deserves a life of dignity, purpose and friendship. So does every adult on the spectrum. Since 2015, that conviction has grown into an autism-friendly community model: → Luv Michael Homes. Three homes in Southampton where nine adults on the autism spectrum live with the support they need. → Indigo Life Classes. Community classes for adults 21 and over, in Southampton and online, for the years after school services end. → Meaningful work. Handcrafted friendship bracelets made by the adults of Luv Michael, each one carrying the story of the person who made it. → The Luv Michael Conference. A free annual day of answers for families, with every talk published online. The 4th Annual is September 13, 2027. → Surfers Healing at Ponquogue Beach. Each year Luv Michael presents a free day of surfing for 150 families. → Student volunteers. More than 50,000 high school and college students have advocated for adults on the autism spectrum online and raised more than $4 million on their own fundraising pages. → Team fundraising.
