Locate Press targets the open source geospatial marketplace. Many traditional publishers release geospatial books as either scientific content or geared toward consumers. Unfortunately, some books are even relegated to the back shelf after selling the first few thousand. Not us! We know better. Geospatial data management is a core technology for government and business, therefore practical teaching materials for industry and higher education are crucial. We also know that reliable availability of material is key. Our books, once available, will remain available long after the first one is sold so that you can depend on them for course material and reference into the future. Our vision is to provide books servicing the breadth of the open source geospatial industry, while also covering how open source interacts with proprietary GIS topics since they are a large part of the current work flow. If you are an educator looking for high quality curriculum, we would like to hear from you.
