WCVA is the national umbrella organisation for the third sector in Wales, delivering a huge range of services for our members and the wider sector. We aim to help our members by: • Offering advice, information and support to charities, volunteers, voluntary organisations, community groups, social enterprises and trustees. • Influencing decision-makers on behalf of our members and ensuring the sector’s voice is heard. • Awarding grants and loans (£39m in 2011-12) to thousands of groups like yours. • Staging a wide range of training events and conferences - view details and book online at www.wcva.org.uk. • Celebrating the sector’s achievements through our Wales Volunteer of the Year and Third Sector Awards Cymru schemes.

We seek to influence policies to ensure that they are more youth friendly and therefore young people have better opportunities in life and have a greater voice in their community. We also passionately pursue the organising of bespoke opportunities to meet the varying needs of young people.

Urban Hope works in partnership with young people to enable their personal development and to work towards transforming the community we share into a place full of opportunities and stories of success. We encourage and support young people to: o participate in community life o be employed or in education o build and maintain positive relationships o have a strong sense of well-being and self-esteem o have a reasoned understanding of their values and beliefs o develop a variety of life-skills o make informed choices related to their health o have the skills to find and access support services e.g. NHS, employment, financial advice We do this by: Urban Hope seeks to meet the needs of young people by: o running positive activities o creating safe spaces o developing life skills o initiating purposeful relationships o providing personal support and signposting o inspiring spirituality o promoting hopeful communities o offering positive role models
