Konsthall C Information

Konsthall C is a public artwork, an urban renewal project, and an art institution located in a former communal laundry room in Hökarängen. Since its inception in 2004, we have organized exhibitions and events rooted in the neighborhood's history and present day, its people, and its environment. Konsthall C was started in 2004 as a collaboration between artist Per Hasselberg, the Hökarängen Neighborhood Council, Stockholmshem, and Moment:teater. The Hökarängen Neighborhood Council had already been working to foster a vital cultural and community life in the area, and Per’s artistic practice had since the 1990s revolved around the intersection of art, urban planning, and democracy. Together, they established Konsthall C in Stockholmshem's former central laundry facility in Hökarängen. Today, the operations primarily consist of the temporary artistic program, which is shaped by our on-site artistic director. It usually includes an exhibition program, regular events, and longer-term art projects taking place both inside and outside of Konsthall C. In addition to the artistic program, there are also a number of so-called "fixed formats," which are permanent fixtures of the art center's activities. These include the collaboration Konst i Förskolan (Art in Preschool), the self-organized gallery Centrifug, the Hökarängen Archive, Konsthall C's own new archive, and our shop. In recent years, Konsthall C has been characterized by high international standards and sharpness. The exhibiting artists come from all over the world, which has made the art center an important player in the national and international art scene. Erik Annerborn has been the Managing Director of the art center since 2018. The current Artistic Director is Mariam Elnozahy. The Producer and Educator is Sander C. Neant Falk.
