Our mission is to create a Vermont Cooperative strong enough to purchase Burlington Telecom’s assets, greatly expand the customer base and provide the best broadband services on the planet. Our greatest concern is that Burlington Telecom be sold to an out of state company. We would lose many jobs, local expenditures, profits and most importantly control. Burlington Telecom currently is an important economic engine for Burlington. It could become an economic engine for the entire state but only if the control is kept locally. Secondarily we are concerned that it would be bought by a local company. That would be considerably better than purchase by an out of state company. However a Broadband Cooperative being locally owned by thousands of Vermonters is far more likely to stay local.
