Isolatek, originally established in 1875 as a manufacturer of mineral wool, is today a global leader in the development, manufacture, and distribution of proprietary Passive Fire Resistive Materials used to protect structural steel in commercial, industrial, petrochemical, and tunnel applications. Formerly operating under the trade name United States Mineral Products Company, Isolatek has built a legacy of innovation and technical expertise spanning nearly 150 years. Our fireproofing technologies and product solutions help architects, engineers, contractors, and owners create structures that are safer, stronger, and designed to perform better. More than half a century ago, Isolatek introduced its first spray applied fireproofing materials under the CAFCO® and Blaze Shield® brand names, helping establish new industry standards for commercial construction. Today, Isolatek continues to lead the industry through continued innovation and expansion of its product portfolio, including SprayFilm® intumescent coatings, CAFCO BOARD® systems, FENDOLITE® M II cementitious hydrocarbon fire protection products, Cellu Shield® thermal acoustical insulation systems, and Albi Protective Coatings. Isolatek operates four manufacturing facilities across the United States and is supported globally through international manufacturing licensees, providing worldwide reach and localized support.
