The 200 Hour Svadhyaya Yoga Teacher Training offered at Involution Yoga can provide a profound life changing experience for those who wish to teach or for those simply looking for a deeper personal transformation. Svadhyaya Yoga is an approach to Hatha Yoga developed by Susan Hamadock of Silver Lotus Training Institute. This style of yoga combines elements of contemporary mind-body psychology with Hatha Yoga. It is unique because its focus is on the individualization of the practice of Yoga. In this system each student has the responsibility for the pursuit of self-awareness, self-acceptance, and attunement to the higher consciousness or true nature which lies within. Discovery of this Inner being or true nature is accomplished by utilizing the fundamentals of Classical Yoga principles and philosophy. Our 200 HourTraining includes Classical Yoga philosophy, teaching methodology, asana, pranayama. meditation, anatomy, physiology and ethics. There is also introduction to ayurveda, chakras, chanting, mudras and bandhas. Our signature approach is Classical Yoga which brings trainees to a deep understanding of the nature of the true self as revealed in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. We also include the teachings of Krishnamacharya who individualized the yoga experience. Graduates are trained to adapt and modify asana and pranayama techniques to meet individual needs of students in their classes. This program was established in 1995 and was one of the first to be registered with the Yoga Alliance. Our training classes are small to ensure that each student receives the personalized guidance and individual learning styles they need to fully understand the training.
