Inventorium Information

Inventorium is a action designed to bring together people who would not normally meet – People who each have a part but not the whole of an innovation. It is a partnership between TechniumCAST in Bangor and NDRC in Dublin. It is supported by the European Union’s Ireland Wales Interreg IV Programme. The idea is to establish a sustainable distributed mechanism for the generation of new ideas that will lead to the formation of new businesses or contribute to sustaining existing businesses, with particular focus on digital technologies for health, public services, education, leisure, entertainment, environment and transport. It will do this by a series of interlinked processes including; - To develop and test systematic methodologies for early stage knowledge interchange as part of the knowledge transfer process. - To support the early stage conceptualisation of products and services based on innovative technologies which in turn further builds capacity for research in those domains - Provide channels of communication between potential and existing actors: SMEs, MNCs Corporate bodies, Public bodies, academic and research institutions and interested individuals in the generation of solutions. - To provide mechanisms and supports for subsequent translational resear ch and early stage business incubation. Both Centre for Advanced Software Technology (Wales) and the National Digital Research Centre (Ireland) bring considerable expertise in the areas of technology research, knowledge and technology transfer and sustainable commercial development of research outputs. By bringing together stakeholders from relevant sectors, this project will create novel mechanisms and channels for technology transfer, complementing ongoing activity and enhancing and contributing to sustainable business and entrepreneurial activities across both regions.
