With 20 sites in Adelaide, regional South Australia and western Victoria, not-for-profit employment services provider Interwork will complement WISE Employment's 60 sites in Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania and the Northern Territory. WISE Employment Group CEO, John Bateup said WISE and Interwork would harness their combined strengths and expertise to create stronger outcomes for job seekers and employers. "We are pleased to be joining forces with Interwork in South Australia. Our expanded organisational capability will enable our combined 700 staff to provide training, occupational rehabilitation, employment and staffing solutions to more than 40,000 job seekers each year," said John. Interwork, like WISE Employment, was founded in the early 1990s. Its specialist employment, training and vocational rehabilitation services focus on the long-term needs of people with disabilities and other disadvantages. "Interwork and WISE Employment share the same values and commitment to serving the community, including people with a disability, who are among the most marginalised people in Australia," said Rosemary Wallage, CEO, Interwork. Not-for-profit employment services provider WISE Employment provides services to employers and job seekers under the Australian Government's Disability Employment Services (DES) and Job Services Australia (JSA) initiatives. WISE Employment assists the most disadvantaged people in the Australian community into employment, including the long-term unemployed, youth, ex-offenders, Indigenous job seekers, mature workers and people with disability and mental illness. WISE also operates four social enterprises, including award-winning commercial cleaning company, Clean Force, providing employment for disadvantaged people in Victoria, Tasmania and the Northern Territory.
