IndianRaga Information

IndianRaga is a global performing arts organisation founded in 2012 by Sriram Emani at MIT. Through Raga Labs Academy, its online education program, IndianRaga teaches Carnatic vocal music, Hindustani vocal music, Bharatanatyam and Kathak to students worldwide, from beginner to advanced levels, with a structured syllabus and certification at every level. Its Raga Fellowship selects artists through a competitive international panel to create professionally produced collaborative performances. IndianRaga artists have performed at the United Nations General Assembly, Lincoln Center, Jacob's Pillow and TEDx. IndianRaga is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. Our work rests on a simple conviction: rigorous classical training deserves a modern path to recognition and a career. We pair traditional pedagogy with an emphasis on presentation, performance, professional audio and video production, and collaboration — the skills that turn years of training into a body of work. Raga Labs Academy offers structured courses from beginner to advanced, with IndianRaga certification at each level. The Raga Fellowship, our flagship program, brings together musicians and dancers selected by an international panel to develop and produce original collaborative work in an environment built for creative risk.
