Why invest in redundant technology? Lease your boardroom technology! Did you know that currently, knowledge, in general, is doubling every 12 hours? How does this affect you? Well because there's a bigger better piece of tech available every 24 hrs it means that the equipment you're installing today may as well be obsolete by the end of the week! This creates endless headaches for both corporates and consumers as we always drive to have the latest and greatest. Not so long ago our whole perspective was that whatever we bought should be high quality and should last as long as possible. Those days, unfortunately, is over as technology advances so rapidly that we can hardly keep up. Thank goodness the quality is still relatively high so we are still able to use the equipment for 3 to 5 years, before the need to replace it arises. This raises the issue of why buy when you can rent/lease the equipment for 5 years, have a monthly payment instead of once off and get the VAT back immediately, and the premiums are claimed from SARS yearly or whatever your tax cycle is! Yes I know, it sounds too good to be true, your accountant will say but I can depreciate the equipment faster. That may be true but then you are still paying the full amount out of your cash flow, that hurts every company in more than one way: 1. Maybe the equipment is much more expensive than what was budgeted for, so now you compromise quality & functionality to make it work. 2. More and more visitors come with Apple equipment which has no connectivity ports or only a Thunder port (but which version?) 3. We tend to think of boardrooms only as meeting spaces, yet it is where we present presentations that took hours or even days to prepare. Our hard work deserves the best possible way to be presented & the audio & graphics should be clear and colourfull. 4. Your boardroom is the face of the company. Need I say more?
