A learning management system of online, self-directed, career planning & career development courses and resources designed to help young people to build and act on a career plan that's relevant and meaningful to them; one that will not only benefit them but also their future families, their communities, society and the economy. Let's face it, our young people are struggling to find career direction and it's evidenced by the high college dropout rate, underemployment statistics for college graduates, and the insane level of student loan debt that large numbers of young people are burdened with. Idea2Career's mission is to give young people the tools, guidance and support to help them discover the diverse education and career opportunities that are available to them. Becoming well-informed and educated regarding career planning and career development will empower young people to make informed decisions regarding the financial and time investments that they'll be committing to for their post-secondary educational experience, as well as help them with the building of a successful career and future; whatever their version of success may be. * To help young people to know, really know, that they can create their future by choice, not by chance. * To empower young people with knowledge and resources that will help them to make well-informed and educated decisions about the careers choices that are available to them. * To strengthen the resolve of young people to consider their skills, interests and passions when envisioning their future. * To redefine education as a mindset and recognize the value of real world experiences vs. academia only. * To elevate the acceptance of education and training for career pathways requiring skilled and talented professionals. * To help young people to choose a post-secondary education and training experience that's affordable and cost-effective so they aren't burdened with an insane amount of student loan debt.
