As the United States Postal Service continues its evolution as a forward-thinking, fast-acting company capable of providing quality products and services for its customers, it continues to remember and celebrate its roots as the first national network of communications that literally bound a nation together. Ours is a proud heritage built on a simple yet profound mission: Bind the nation together. Connect every American, every door, every business, everywhere through the simple act of delivering mail and packages. This idea of universal service is at the heart of the $1.4 trillion industry that employs more than 7.5 million people and drives commerce, plays an integral part in every American community and remains the greatest value of any post in the world.
The Postal Service delivers more mail to more addresses in a larger geographical area than any other post in the world. The Postal Service delivers to more than 157 million addresses in every state, city and town in this country. Everyone living in the United States and its territories has access to postal products and services and pays the same postage regardless of their location. The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.

Established in 1876, the AAMC is a nonprofit association dedicated to improving the health of people everywhere through medical education, clinical care, biomedical research, and community collaborations. Its members are all 163 U.S. medical schools accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education; 12 Canadian medical schools accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools; more than 400 academic health systems and teaching hospitals; and more than 70 academic societies. The AAMC also collaborates with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and VA medical centers through their academic affiliations with AAMC-member institutions.
Through these institutions and organizations, the AAMC leads and serves America’s medical schools, academic health systems and teaching hospitals, and the millions of individuals across academic medicine, including more than 220,000 full-time faculty members, 100,000 medical students, 167,000 resident physicians, and 60,000 graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in the biomedical sciences. Through the Alliance of Academic Health Centers International, AAMC membership reaches more than 60 international academic health centers throughout five regional offices across the globe.
The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) is the largest federal union representing 670,000 federal government employees. Our members are the doctors, Border Patrol agents, scientists, correctional officers, nurses, and food inspectors who keep America healthy and safe.
We believe America works, when people do. That's why we're on a mission to elevate the conversation our country is having about unions like AFGE; and in the process, better labor practices for all.
