Herts Young Mariners Adventure Club (HYMAC) is an outdoor activites club for people aged between 9-18. Our main activities are Sailing, Canoeing, All terrain biking, windsufing and caving, but we also take part in climbing, camping, abseiling, and have other trips to other outdoor events, such as archery, ice skating, swimming, white water canoeing, quasar, water polo, hiking etc. We use the facilities of Herts Young Mariners Base, in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, where we meet each Saturday, and during Wednesday evenings during the summer. Members learn skills in their chosen activities at Cheshunt. Once they have aquired sufficient skills they will be entitled to attend trips to other places to use their skills, for example our canoeists visit rivers and enter competitions. Our sailors can go to larger stretches of water and more exciting boats once they have mastered the necessary skills. If you would like to join HYMAC- then please see the membership page for details or visit the base on a Saturday. There is a waiting list, so you may need to wait a couple of months after applying. All activities run under safety guidelines of Herts Young Mariners Base and Hertfordshire County Council, which are registered with the Adventure Activities Licenceing Authority (AALA), or the relevant centre where activities are taking place.
