Hopewell Depot Restoration Corp. Information

Hopewell Depot Restoration Corp is a NYS registered 501(c)(3). Our mission is to preserve and restore the last railroad building in Hopewell Junction, NY The basic mission of the Hopewell Depot Restoration Corporation is to preserve the railroad history of East Fishkill and Hopewell Junction. This includes collection, preservation and sharing of written records, photographs, oral histories and physical artifacts. The only building remaining from Hopewell Junction’s rich railroad history is the abandoned depot which is now the primary focus of our restoration efforts. Our ultimate goal is to restore the depot as nearly possible to what it was when railroads were the primary reason for the existence of Hopewell Junction. When completed, the building will serve as a home for the written and photographed artifact. In addition to being a local museum and educational facility, the depot serves as an “anchor” for the eastern terminus of the Dutchess County Rail Trail.
