Holy Cross Monastery is the place of worship, the workplace and the home of a dozen monks. The Monastery is part of the Order of the Holy Cross. The Order is a community of Benedictine Monks, who worship in the Anglican tradition. We were founded in the USA in 1884. Holy Cross Monastery operates a ministry of hospitality to individuals and groups. Our Guesthouse, on twenty-six magnificent acres on the west bank of the Hudson River, welcomes about 5000 people each year. In addition to our guest ministry we also manufacture incense, publish, and operate a book and gift shop. The primary work of the community is worship and prayer, which are the central components of our daily life.
